This historic farmhouse blends vernacular Federal style architecture and craftsmanship with modern comfort, convenience, and environmentally conscious practices. The second floor bedrooms and deck overlook five acres of gardens, a meadow, woods, and farmlands beyond inhabited by deer, woodchucks, rabbits, wild turkeys and other birds and wildlife. We offer private, family-friendly hospitality in a graceful, natural setting—a great base from which to tour the surrounding area.

Easily accessed from both Interstates 80/90 and 94 and situated a short distance from Lake Michigan beaches, shopping, recreational facilities, casinos, farms and vineyards, we are:
75 minutes from downtown Chicago
35 minutes from South Bend and Notre Dame University
15 minutes from Michigan City as well as New Buffalo, MI.

The spacious bedroom with cathedral ceiling and old beams has large divided lite windows on three sides with a glass door leading to a private deck.  The Amish-made four-poster queen bed has a comfortable pillowtop Sealy Posterpedic mattress. Bose radio/CD player can wake you up or put you to sleep. The ample dressing area includes a cedar closet, chest of drawers, full-length mirror, iron and ironing board.

Your private modern bathroom has a vintage feel with exposed brick and stained glass window, 5-½ foot long claw foot tub, separate shower (slightly smaller than standard at 27x30 inches), extra tall pedestal sink, organic Egyptian cotton towels, and hair dryer.

The adjoining sitting room has cable HDTV/DVD, books, games, AND a queen-sized sleeper sofa…ideal for young child(ren) traveling  with you. Other practical amenities include table and two chairs, mini-frig, and wireless internet throughout.  A twin bedroom across the hall accommodates family members/friends if you need more space. Twin beds can be joined to make a king. Family members share the bath in the master bedroom suite.

50% deposit of total booking is required with reservation, and the balance is due at check-in. Fourteen (14)-day cancellation notice is required, or the deposit may be forfeited unless the room is re-booked.
