The Country Victorian Bed and Breakfast welcomes you to the heart of Northern Indiana’s Amish Country where you can relax on the front porch with a cold glass of raspberry lemonade or ice tea and watch the horses and buggies go by. Take a nap in one of the five antique filled guest rooms or spend the day playing golf, shopping for antiques, quilts, or Amish furniture, driving the Heritage Trail, visiting the Menno-Hof in Shipshewana or the Notre Dame Campus in South Bend. Enjoy walking thru town to Krider Gardens and visiting some of our quaint shops, or bring your bicycle and ride through the countryside and see the beautiful Amish farms.
Experience Hoosier Hospitality in our graceful Queen Anne style Victorian home built by the young J.F. Nusbaum family. It still has the original gingerbread woodwork, crown molding and one of the ornate ceiling oil lamps which was converted to electricity. The architect responsible for the design was part of the team of architects who designed and built the buildings for the 1893 Chicago World’s fair. Mr. Nusbaum was the town druggist, our modern day pharmacist, and was involved in starting the Middlebury Library as well as serving a town marshal.
REST in one of our five graciously appointed, antique filled guest rooms with private baths, bathrobes, hair dryers, cable television, cd/dvd players, WIFI and evening turn down service.
RELAX on the front porch with a complimentary hot or cold drink and homemade treats, or in the parlor curled up with a book by the fireplace listening to the lolling gate of the horse and buggies clip clopping down the street.
REFRESH yourself with a freshly prepared delicious full breakfast and our specially roasted and blended Country Victorian Bed & Breakfast coffee or specialty teas, or European hot chocolate.
We look forward to your visit with us and wish you a safe journey to Amish Country.
