Mc-Dowell-Nearing House B & B

A complete renovation of this 1947 neo-colonial house was completed in November, 2007, establishing the McDowell-Nearing House as Muncie's premiere Bed and Breakfast Inn.The innkeeper offers guests the comforts of home away from home. Our four guest rooms are appointed with handcrafted American furniture, comfortable locally-manufactured mattresses, private en suite bathrooms, quality linens and in-room cable TV and WiFi wireless Internet connectivity. All rooms are on the second floor and are not handicap accessible. The king room can accommodate a third guest on a roll-away bed.  Wake each morning to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and enjoy a home-cooked breakfast. Our sunny breakfast room overlooks the garden.  Snacks and refreshments are available throughout your stay.  Curl up with a book or enjoy a DVD from the library. McDowell-Nearing House is conveniently located on a major artery within walking distance to Ball State Universityís Scheumann Stadium and only a mile from both the main campus of Ball State University and Ball Memorial Hospital. There is plenty of off-street parking.  We can accommodate your needs whether you are looking for a weekend getaway or visiting Ball State University for business or pleasure. Muncie is located an hourís drive northeast of Indianapolis and often provides lodging for visitors to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and NCAA tournaments held in Indianapolis.Sorry, we do not allow infants and small children.  Your child must be 12 or older to accompany you.  We are a pet-free and smoke-free facility.  Smoking is allowed outside.
