Elegant and inviting atmosphere the moment you walk through the front door with Brenda and Homer greeting you. Brenda with her warm personality (no one is a stranger to her) loves cooking and baking for the guests. Homer with his Amish upbringing charm, always welcomes questions about his Amish heritage. They will do their best to make you feel rested on the king/queen select comfort number beds in one of the four guestrooms. Comfortable and relaxed in your room's plush robe, reading a good book beside the indoor pool or in the garden patio overlooking the countryside fields and beautful birds and feeders (or go for a swim). Watch a DVD movie in your room from the selection provided at the B&B. Brenda will be happy to make popcorn for you. Spend your sunny day on a pontoon boat (rent by the hour or by the day) with your picnic lunch at Lake of the Woods just 5 minutes from the B&B or 12 minutes away is Potato Creek State Park with hiking trails, biking, beach for swimming, canoeing, nature sites and fishing. Before breakfast take a walk and visit the cows and horses just down the road and see all the beautiful wild life or ride a bike provided by the B&B, just ask Brenda or Homer for details. Some of the INNKEEPER'S RECOMMENDED THINGS TO DO IN THE AREA: have Brenda set-up an Amish dinner (not a restaurant) at a real Amish farm, the Amish couple will sit down and eat with you and you can ask them any questions you would like about their lifestyle. The buggy ride you could receive, shows you their transportation. What a wonderful adventure for each guests who stays at the Scottish B&B and signs-up with Brenda for this experience. Rentown Grocery Store in Bremen, is the Amish's grocery store where the Amish do their grocery shopping. You can purchase cheese, homemade breads, jams, and church peanut butter, Amish cookbooks, flours, fruits just to name a few products offered. Dogwood Bakery in Bremen is Amish owned and Health Department approved with mouth-watering pies, cookies, breads, pickles, apple butter etc. There are 5 golf courses 15 minutes from the B&B for the GOLF LOVER. The three Scottish Terriers on-site are all retired champions and very pampered. If you would like to see them, just ask. You and your special partner on Friday or Saturday night take in a movie at the theater ($3.00 each)in downtown Bremen, then eat dinner at the "Wooden Peel" or "Edward Christian Dining", both restaurants are downtown Bremen. Only 10 minutes away you could go to an outdoor drive-in movie theater (just like in the old days) with 5 different movies. Is miniature golf your sport? Just minutes away from the B&B.  Interested in Antiques? Visit "Antiques on the Square" in downtown Nappanee, "Cozy Home Shop" in downtown Bremen, and "Burkholder Dutch Village" in Nappanee with indoor shops and a restaurant. The "Night Life" is alive in Bremen and Nappanee take in a live theater play at Amish Acres or "Hoopla's" downtown Bremen. Shipshewana Flea Market is ONLY 35 minutes Southwest of the B&B. South Bend is ONLY 15 minutes away with the Studebaker Museum, History Museum and Art Museum. Take a "FREE" tour at the South Bend Chocolate Company and leave with a free sample of their excellent chocolate. Tour the beautiful campus of Notre Dame and have dinner at Tippecanoe Restaurant (Studebaker family home). White Water Rafting is in South Bend on the St, Joseph River. FUN for the whole family! In the winter you can go cross-country skiiing in the fields next to the B&B or just come sit by the fireplace and enjoy the quiet country sounds. Brenda's breakfast is prepared with fresh Amish farm eggs, hormone-free bacon and homemade breads and desserts. The breakfast is an experience, colorful, tasteful and filling. Refunds ONLY if notice is received by our office no less than 14 days (30 days in June, July, August) prior to intended date of arrival. A service charge of $50 per room will be deducted from your deposit. Holidays, festival weekends and Notre Dame weekends require a minumim 2 night stay and observe a 30 day cancellation policy.
