Surround yourself with casual good taste while relaxing in Southern comfort. Only minutes from Grand Victoria, Argosy and Belterra Riverboat Casinos. Close proximity to Greater Cincinnati International Airport, I-275 around Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Come perch on a hilltop overlooking the scenic Ohio River and surrounding Valley. Choose King twin beds in the Library with private bath on the 1st floor; or Queen beds in the antique Oak Room and graceful sleigh Maple Room on the 2nd floor.
Full country breakfasts will be served in the large dining room looking to the sun rising over the hills of Kentucky or to deer and wild turkey grazing in the West pasture. Plan to enjoy homemade sausage gravy and biscuits accompanied by bacon, eggs, lavish fruit bowls, and possibly irresistible seasonal fried peaches. The large covered porch provides a smoker's retreat from the non-smoking interior of the main house. Look to the in-ground swimming pool while watching horses roam in the pasture visited by deer and wild turkeys. Equine and canine friends are welcome in the outdoor barn and kennel. Hookup is available for RVs. Storage and security is present on the fifteen acre estate for guests traveling on/with bicycles or motorcycles.
Tuggles' Folly sits high on its hilltop in the smallest county in the United States. Ohio County is home to the oldest continually used courthouse in the State. Rising Sun offers glimpses into its manufacturing past which includes the Whitlock family's chair factory, Hoosier Boy hydroplane, riverfront activity and culture from days gone bye. Grand Victoria, Argosy, and Belterra Riverboat Casinos are within short drives. Downriver, the Pendleton Art Center, Harps on Main and Zeiler Music Center open their doors onto Main Street in addition to an array of marvelous restaurants, antique, pottery and gift shops. Taking leisurely drives will bring you five wineries and two wine tasting rooms in the hills of Southern Indiana. Back upriver, Hillforest house museum offers a full view of what life was like for the family of a prominent shipbuilder in the 1850s.
After relaxation can come the activities offered by docking at Lighthouse Point Yacht Club on Laughery Creek with the finest covered docks on the Ohio River. For the professional auto racing fan, Kentucky Speedway is only 45 min. away. Lawrenceburg Speedway lets the dirt fly at a 15 min. drive. The Links Golf Course immediately adjacent to Grand Victoria Casino is close enough for the earliest of tee times, while Perfect North Slopes provides skiing during the winter season after a brief 20 min. drive.
Individuals, couples or small parties traveling together can be made comfortable at Tuggles' Folly. Crafters, scrapbookers, sewing parties or any other groups desiring a getaway can find respite with Hosts Dean & Debbie Tuggle. Hoping to see you soon!
