Country Victorian B & B

The Country Victorian Bed and Breakfast welcomes you to the heart of Northern Indiana's Amish Country where you can relax on the front porch with a cold glass of freshly brewed iced tea and watch the horses and buggies go by.  Take a nap in one of the four antique filled guest rooms or spend the day playing golf, shopping for antiques, quilts, or Amish furniture, driving the Heritage Trail, visiting the Menno-Hof in Shipshewana or the Notre Dame Campus in South Bend.  Enjoy walking the Pumpkinvine Trail to Krider Gardens and visiting some of our quaint shops, or bring your bicycle and ride through the countryside and see the beautiful Amish farms.  Experience Hoosier Hospitality in our graceful Queen Anne style Victorian home built by the young J.F. Nusbaum family. It still has the original gingerbread woodwork, crown molding and one of the ornate ceiling oil lamps which was converted to electricity.  The architect responsible for the design was part of the team of architects who designed and built the Columbian Exposition building for the 1893 Chicago World's fair. Mr. Nusbaum was the town druggist, our modern day pharmacist, and was involved in starting the Middlebury Library as well as serving a town marshal.  His daughter  Carrie Nusbaum Ozane was quite the social butterfly and philanthropist. Many of her family's possessions are in the Elkhart County Historical Museum just 8 miles from the origianal home. REST in one of our five graciously appointed, antique filled guest rooms with private baths, bathrobes, hair dryers, cable television, cd/dvd players, WIFI and evening turn down service. All of our guest rooms have four season fireplaces and one has a whirlpool tub.  RELAX on the front porch with a complimentary hot or cold drink and homemade treats, or in the parlor curled up with a book by the fireplace listening to the lolling gate of the horse and buggies clip clopping down the street.  REFRESH yourself with a freshly prepared delicious full breakfast and our specially roasted and blended Country Victorian Bed & Breakfast coffee or specialty teas, or European hot chocolate.  We look forward to your visit with us and wish you a safe journey to Amish Country.

Cancellation Policy

Making reservations at a bed and breakfast is not the same as making a hotel reservation.  Due to our small size, cancellations affect us significantly.  A last minute cancellation gives us little chance of re-booking a room.  For this reason we uphold a strict cancellation policy:

Guests are responsible for payment of all nights reserved regardless of their actual arrival or departure date.  No-shows are also responsible for full payment of their entire reservation.
Cancellation of (including to) a confirmed reservation must be made 10 or more days prior to your scheduled arrival to receive a refund.
All cancellations are subject to a $35.00 administrative processing fee per room, per night.
Cancellation of (including changes to) a confirmed reservation 13 days or less prior to your scheduled arrival will only receive a refund if we can re-book the room to other guests, minus the $35.00 administrative processing fee, per room, per night.  There are no exceptions to this policy including illness, family emergencies, or weather related  issues.  Naturally we make every effort to re-rent the room and return your deposit.
30 Days Notice of Cancellation is REQUIRED for these circumstances:
                     * A group booking of 2 or more rooms.
               * Major holidays, Notre Dame Football Game Weekends, or Special Event Weekends
We recommend purchasing Trip Insurance to cover your loss should you need to cancel your reservations with less than 10 days notice.

Confirmed reservations made with less than 14 days notice will receive no refunds if cancelled.
